Candles symbolize light of hope that fights away the evil darkness. Decorative candles have been offered as presents for centuries. Ingredients Required:
1. Clear wax
2. Double boiler
3. Color and scent of your choice
4. Old pizza cutter
5. Glass Candleholder
Method:
Step1: Melt the wax in a double boiler. Add scent, colour and glitter to the boiling wax.
Step 2: Pour the wax into a shallow 1/8 inch tray/
Step3: Carefully, remove the wax from the tray upon cooling.
Ste4: Repeat the above processes, until you have several wax trays ready.
Step 5: Now make wax chips by forming rectangular grids of varying size by using an old pizza cutter.
Step 6: Add a wick to these chips, before arranging them in your glass candleholder.
Step 7: Melt some more clear wax, and pour it slowly over the chips.
Step 8: Let it cool. Congratulations! You made your first decorative candle.
For making Decorative Pressed Flower Candles you would require: Fresh, dried flowers and leaves, Drip less candles with 3 inch diameter, Foam brush and Mod Podge.
Method:
Step1: Select the flowers and the leaves as per your choice. Place them under a heavy book or use a flower press to flatten them because flat materials work best in decorating the candle. Preferably pluck them early in the morning to maintain their freshness and remember they need to be flattened and not dried.
Step 2: Use foam brush to apply a thick layer of Mod Podge to the area you wish to decorate. For your efforts to be effective start working on one side of the candle before you move to the next area.
Step 3: Keep rotating your candle, while you decorate it with flattened flowers and leaves. Also, when you apply Mod Podge to the unfinished areas.
Step 4: Gently apply the last coat of Mod Podge with a foam brush, once all flowers and leaves are in place. This ensures that all the decoration pieces are tightly glued to your candle.
Step 5: Let it dry completely. Viola! Your second candle is ready.
